Integration of videos, services, and content from third parties
It may occur that within this online offering, contents from third parties, such as videos from YouTube or Vimeo, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds, or graphics from other websites get integrated. This always requires that the providers of these contents (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”) perceive the user’s IP address. Without the IP address, they would not be able to send the content to the user’s browser. The IP address is therefore essential for the display of these contents. We strive to use only those contents whose respective providers use the IP address solely for the delivery of the content. However, we have no control over whether third-party providers store the IP address, for example, for statistical purposes. As far as we are aware, we inform users about this.
If you do not wish to disclose any data, please log out of your Google account or use a plugin like Ghostery to block data exchange. Here you can find Google’s privacy policy.
Embedding of videos
Both on the website and in the member area or for marketing purposes, videos may be used. Videos are a good way to make content clearer. Local hosting of the videos is not powerful enough, so we use an external provider for this.
YouTube
We also use videos from YouTube on our website. YouTube is a service of YouTube LLC (“YouTube”), 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, and is provided by them. YouTube LLC is a subsidiary of Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The integration of YouTube is accomplished by embedding the service on our website via a so-called “iFrame.” When this iFrame is loaded, YouTube or Google may collect information (including personal data) and process this. It cannot be ruled out that YouTube or Google transmits the information to a server in a third country.
Information about the existing privacy shield certification of Google and other relevant data on data processing by Google when using Google services can be found in this privacy policy under the section “Information on Google services.”
Through the embedding of YouTube, we aim to present various videos on our website so that you can view them directly on it.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data described here is the DSG. Our legitimate interest lies in the great benefit that YouTube provides. By embedding external videos, we relieve our servers and can utilize the respective resources elsewhere. This can also increase the stability of our servers. YouTube or Google also has a legitimate interest in the collected (personal) data to improve their own services.
Further information can be found in the privacy notices of YouTube or Google, which you can access here: www.google.com/policies/privacy. Information regarding Google’s privacy controls can be found at https://privacy.google.com/take-control.html?categories_activeEl=sign-in
Information on Google services
We use various Google services from Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, on our website.
More detailed information about the specific Google services we use on this website can be found in the other privacy notices.
By integrating Google services, Google may collect information (including personal data) and process this.
It cannot be ruled out that Google transmits the information to a server in a third country.
As indicated by Google’s privacy shield certification (which can be found under https://www.privacyshield.gov/list by searching for “Google”), Google has committed to compliance with the Swiss-US Privacy Shield Framework regarding the collection, use, and storage of personal data from Switzerland.
Google, including Google LLC and its wholly owned subsidiaries in the USA, has certified that it adheres to the Privacy Shield principles.
More information about this can be found at https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/frameworks/.
We cannot influence which data Google actually collects and processes. However, Google indicates that, in general, the following information (including personal data) can be processed:
• Log data (particularly IP address)
• Location-based information
• Unique application numbers
• Cookies and similar technologies
If you are logged into your Google account, Google can add the processed information to your account and treat it as personal data depending on your account settings; see in particular https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/partners.
Google states the following:
“We may combine personal data from one service with information and personal data from other Google services. This allows, for example, for easier sharing of content with friends and acquaintances. Depending on your account settings, your activities on other websites and in apps may be linked to your personal data to improve Google’s services and advertisements displayed by Google.” (https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/index.html)
You can prevent the direct linking of this data by logging out of your Google account or by making the appropriate account settings in your Google account.
More information can be found in Google’s privacy notices, which you can access here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/
Information regarding Google’s privacy controls can be found at https://privacy.google.com/take-control.html
Google Maps
We integrate the “Google Maps” service from the provider Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This integration has the consequence that background data is exchanged for tracking purposes. If you do not wish to disclose any data, please log out of your Google account or use a plugin like Ghostery to block data exchange. Here you can find Google’s privacy policy.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics on our website, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies,” text files stored on your device, that allow for an analysis of the use of the websites you visit. Google Analytics may also use so-called web beacons (invisible graphics). Through these web beacons, visitor traffic on websites can be evaluated. The information generated through cookies and web beacons regarding the use of our website (including users’ IP addresses) is transmitted to a Google server, possibly in the USA or other third countries, and stored there. This information may be shared by Google with Google’s partners.
Information on the existing privacy shield certification of Google and other relevant data regarding data processing by Google when using Google services can be found in this privacy policy under the section “Information on Google services.”
The following types of data are processed by Google:
Online identifiers (including cookie identifiers)
IP address
Device identifiers
Additionally, further detailed information regarding the processed information can be found at https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/#infocollect under “Data that we receive based on your use of our services” as well as https://privacy.google.com/businesses/adsservices/.
We implement Google Analytics only with IP anonymization activated (“anonymize IP”). This means that your IP address is truncated by Google within Europe. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.
Moreover, we have signed a data processing agreement with Google for the use of Google Analytics (Art. 28 DSGVO). Google processes the data on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activities for us, and provide further services related to website use and internet usage. Google may transfer this information to third parties if legally required or as long as third parties process this data on behalf of Google.
Through the implementation of Google Analytics, we aim to analyze user behavior on our website and respond to it. This allows us to continuously improve our offering.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data described here is the DSG.
In the context of the data processing agreement, Google is allowed to hire subcontractors. A list of these subcontractors can be found at https://privacy.google.com/businesses/subprocessors/.
The processed information will only be stored as long as necessary for the intended purpose or required by law.
For further information about data handling in connection with Google Analytics, please refer to Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de
Information regarding Google’s privacy controls can be found at https://privacy.google.com/take-control.html?categories_activeEl=sign-in
